As part of the ‘Meet the team’ series, we’re introducing the people behind the scenes, from the finance team who run the business side of things to our Digital Manufacturing Consultants and Analysts, who guide our clients through the RAISE™ process, to the technically skilled Software Developers and MES Engineers who develop innovative, business-focused digital solutions.
Introducing Sonja, Software Support Consultant at Cimlogic. Sonja joined Cimlogic in March 2022 and has transferred significant client support and technical problem-solving skills from previous roles in the IT sector, including Software Support Engineer at a leading retail technology organisation and Technical Writer at a semiconductor data analysis software company. Sonja is interested in expanding her knowledge and skills in areas such as digital manufacturing and digital transformation.
Tell us about your Cimlogic journey
I was fortunate to come across the role at Cimlogic and joined the company in March of last year. I have been with the company for nearly a year now, and the experience has been quite interesting. Initially, I was assigned to support one of our Project Managers on a project, which gave me valuable insight into the field of Project Management and taught me the best practises to follow.
What skills are fundamental to your role?
As a Software Support Consultant, it is essential to possess a strong understanding of SQL and C#, as well as the ability to problem-solve and think analytically. Additionally, it is important to have patience, pay attention to detail, and possess clear communication skills.
Have you worked with mentors within the company who have had a positive impact on your career?
I would like to take this chance to express my gratitude to Luis Fernandez, MES Solution Consultant and my Line Manager. Also, Oliver Stone, the Head of Operational Excellence, and Usman Sajid, a Project Manager, have played a vital role in my journey at Cimlogic. They were understanding and supportive in helping me learn more about TrakSYS™, as well as develop my skills in SQL, C#, and Project Management.

What do you enjoy most about your role at Cimlogic?
Despite my effort to keep it brief, there are many positive aspects to highlight. Shortly after joining the company, I was invited to Cimlogic’s office in Leeds, and it was a fantastic experience, especially as it was my first time visiting the UK and meeting colleagues from Canada and the UK. The company events and team-building activities are always enjoyable, and Cimlogic can be proud of its culture and the way it values and listens to its employees. Employees are encouraged to share their ideas. I appreciate the variety in my role, as I am not confined to working on a single task but instead have the opportunity to be a part of the support team, project team, and business team, constantly learning new things and technologies.
