Meet our team – Louis

Posted in Blog on April 14th, 2022

As you know, employees are our greatest assets and the heart of our business. As part of our new ‘Meet the team’ series, we’re introducing the people behind the scenes, from the finance team who run the business side of things to our Digital Manufacturing Consultants and Analysts, who guide our clients through the RAISE™ process, to the technically skilled Software Developers and MES Engineers who develop innovative, business-focused digital solutions.

Introducing Louis, Digital Manufacturing Consultant at Cimlogic. Louis joined the sales team in September 2021, after gaining 4 years of experience working for a telemarketing services organisation. Soon after joining Cimlogic, Louis was thrown in at the deep end, and asked to represent Cimlogic at one of the UK’s largest processing and packaging trade shows – Cimlogic’s first face-to-face event in over 2 years! Louis is also busy working towards a Level 3 IT Technical Sales Apprenticeship through Pareto Law.

Tell us about your Cimlogic journey so far?

I joined Cimlogic in September 2021. It’s been a great experience so far and has kept me busy throughout. I started at the deep end representing Cimlogic at the PPMA Show 2021 and shortly followed by the Smart Factory Expo in Liverpool. These were both fun yet hectic events and gave me a great insight into Cimlogic and the sectors in which we work in. It also gave me chance to do what I do best – chatting away to lots of people coming by our fantastic stand each day alongside my new colleagues. Since then, I have also taken ownership of a clients’ account and their orders, giving me even more experience within the sales team.

What are the benefits of joining an apprenticeship scheme?

What I enjoy most about my Level 3 IT Technical Sales Apprenticeship is that it allows me to work my full-time job and count my experience here at Cimlogic towards earning my apprenticeship. Alongside this, I’m also provided with full training days which help develop my sales techniques within my role as well as my personal skills.

What do you enjoy most about your role at Cimlogic?

Coming into Cimlogic I had some sales experience but not much experience within the world of manufacturing. One of the main things I’ve enjoyed each day so far is I’m constantly learning new things about Cimlogic, the digital solutions, the client successes and of course the people that make it all happen within the company.

Have you worked with mentors within the company who have had a positive impact on your career?

Absolutely yes there have been a few but the most stand out right from the first day is my manager Fraser Thomson (Business Development Director at Cimlogic) who has been a huge help in supporting me in both my role at Cimlogic and my apprenticeship. I still remember my first day him saying he must try to transfer his many years of experience at Cimlogic through to myself which I’d say he’s done a great job of so far! In addition to this, he has given me great exposure to what we do at Cimlogic through factory site visits where I get to see clients’ challenges hands-on.
