The Role

We are currently recruiting a Software Developer (Support) to join our expanding North America team in the Greater Toronto area (GTA). This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced software developer with a track record of success, looking to further their career. You will make up part of a global technical team focused on delivering digital manufacturing solutions to FTSE100 and Fortune 500 companies.

Responsibilities

Support

o Build lasting relationships with our clients

o Work with our clients and the support team to identify areas of improvement (technical, procedural, etc.)

o Resolve support tickets ensuring root cause and preventative measures have been identified and implemented

o Debugging and fixing code as and when needed, as well as providing deployments and patches to our clients

o Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles

o Understand and drive preventative measures within a problem management framework

o Communicate accurately and consistently with all interested parties

o Managing a wide variety of issues and requests across several different client systems

o Replicate client issues and test changes on internal environments to diagnose and repair without jeopardizing client data or operations

o Option to join the on-call Rota for our 24/7 clients

Projects

o Delivery of sub-tasks as allocated by Operations Leads and/or Project Managers

o Participate in daily scrums and provide status updates and estimations to the Operations Lead

Quality

o Ensure work is delivered to defined standards and reviewed accordingly

o Escalating where any aspect of project quality is at risk to Project Manager

o Participate in and deliver code review with peers and seniors

People

o technical mentor to junior team members – including code reviews, document reviews, 1-to-1 mentoring, etc.

Technology

o Stay up to date regarding current programming technologies

o Stay up to date regarding current MES/MOM developments and trends

Commercial

o Assist Operations Leads and Project Managers in the estimation of technical tasks for both support work and projects

o Understanding of the SLA commercial structure and impact of incidents on both Cimlogic and our clients

Skills, Education & Experience

• Degree level education preferred, or equivalent industrial experience

• Desired technical skills: SQL Server, C#, ASP .Net, HTML/CSS, JavaScript

• Experience of working in a service delivery team, ITIL structured preferably

• Experience in MES / MOM domain preferred: Production Dispatching, Detailed Scheduling, Product Tracking and Genealogy, Resource Allocations and Status, Document Control, Performance Analysis, Labour Management, Maintenance Management, Process Management, Quality Management, Data Collection

• Good problem-solving skills (technical): experience of troubleshooting, fault finding and fixing in operational/production environments

• Real-life experience and history of delivering MES/MOM solutions preferred

The Person

The ideal candidate will be seeking a challenging position. You will have a high level of commitment to your projects and will be able to actively demonstrate problem-solving skills.

You should be a fast learner and be dynamic in your approach as you will need to react quickly to ever-changing environments. You will actively keep up to date with new and developing programming technologies and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)/Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM)/Operating Technologies (OT) developments and trends.

Finally, you will be a charismatic and confident Developer, happy interacting with different audiences, including clients and internal stakeholders.
