Automation Project Manager – Home Counties ( to £ 48k )

Based in Berkshire (Surrounding areas), and able to service Reading, Slough, M4 Corridor.

This role is for an established hands on Automation Project Manager. They will be based in the South, work at various customer sites, on a selection of Control System and MES Turn Key Projects. You will have the correct mix of hands on technical expertise and also significant Turn Key Automation Project Management Experience.

Key attributes:-

• Able to manage multiple projects as well as perform a Project Engineering function.
• Manage & drive sub contractors, and specialist contract resources.
• Demand service from sub contractors that upholds the values of Cimlogic and those of the client.
• Deliver presentations, and progress updates to senior team/clients as well as supporting documentation to facilitate this.
• Prepare tender documentation, and associated standard documentation items such as URS, SDS, FDS, iFAT, cFAT etc.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Strong character, energetic and determined.
• Quick thinker, and works well under extreme pressure and deadlines.
• Excellent negotiation skills & some sales ability.
• Proven track record and ability in Control Systems and Automation Engineering.

Skills Required – Technical:-

• Electrical & Automation background, good automation software skills.
• Hands on Knowledge of Rockwell Programmable Automation Controllers and associated Networks.
• Hands on knowledge of electrical control systems, PLC hardware and software design, instrumentation, drives, SCADA.
• Good working knowledge of H&S Regs and IEE 16th or 17th Edition Regs.
• Good PC skills, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint etc.

Experience Required:-

You will be a successful control systems engineer that has matured into the role of project manager, and looking to maintain a good balance of managing projects, and project engineering, and be able to deliver excellent results in both areas.

• BEng Electrical & Electronic Engineering & possible CEng MIET
• Formal qualification in Project Management, extensive project management experience, typical projects (£ 500k +)
• Food and Beverage industry, (Process plant, and packaging equipment).
• Good knowledge of generating tendering documents, and issuing electrical specifications to suppliers.
