We have used the above technology to allow technicians greater flexibility and access to PC applications such as PLC Programming Software and SCADA development packages.

As an example, you can create a central installation of RSLogix in the VMware environment, and then access it from any desktop, and use it to go online to PLC’s just as if it were installed on the local machine.

Assuming that you have enough RSLogix Licenses, you can then have multiple users accessing RSLogix at the same time.

This is all managed from a central install – which means that when RSLogix 5000 V18 comes out, you only need to perform the update once on the central VMView image ! This can save hours, and all of your licenses are controlled centrally.

We have also used the above technology for DOS based PLC programming software, SCADA Development Software, Drive Tuning and Instrument config software.
